Utrecht, November 27, 2024 - The first edition of DigiBouw, organized by Royal Jaarbeurs in cooperation with DigiGo, the platform for digital collaboration in the built environment, was a great success. Tom van der Zwaag, exhibition manager: "We took a big step towards digital adoption in the construction, design, engineering and installation sector with the launch of DigiBouw. A total of 950 professionals were inspired by digital transformation in the sectors last week. With a rich array of exhibitors, speakers and workshops, this very first edition offered a wealth of information and insights on the latest developments in digitalization in construction." DigiBouw 2025 will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 19 and Thursday, Nov. 20 at Royal Jaarbeurs.
Leaders on digitization in construction
The first edition of DigiBouw showed a huge need for knowledge sharing about digitalization in the construction, design, engineering and installation sector. Tom van der Zwaag: "The sector is facing a major challenge related to sustainability and energy transition. These challenges will only increase in the coming years. I am proud that as market leader of our own trade titles BouwBeurs and VSK, we are contributing to this in the form of trade event DigiBouw." One of the highlights during DigiBouw was the presentation by Techniek Nederland who revealed their research into the impact of new technologies such as AI, robotization and industrialization on the sector. Doekle Terpstra, president of Techniek Nederland: "As far as I am concerned, this well-attended event demonstrates that AI and robotization in the built environment are no longer a distant future, but are already being fully deployed in construction and engineering. Moreover, with the increasing personnel shortages in our sector, this digitalization is an indispensable addition to the deployment of our professionals."
First edition trade fair DigiBouw offers perspective
Martijn Carlier, manager Aanjagen Digitalisering at digiGO: "This first edition lived up to our expectations. It was busy at the knowledge sessions, there was plenty of networking and there was a varied audience of advanced and beginners. DigiBouw has everything it needs to grow further and help the sector move towards more digital chain collaboration." Exhibitors also look back with great satisfaction. Exhibitor Sander Lijbers of Openspace, for example, says: "A trade fair like DigiBouw is important because we as OpenSpace can meet a lot of people in a short period of time. This is twofold; existing relations we can talk to and catch up with which is much more efficient. In addition, we also meet new people who come to see what we have to offer." In addition, visitors look back very positively on a successful first edition. "I found the first edition of DigiBouw very fascinating. I saw new things, even though I already follow all the developments closely. In doing so, I have expanded my network and met many new people today, which I can continue with tomorrow," said Gian Broers of BAM. Tom van der Zwaag continues: "These sounds offer excellent prospects for a fitting continuation. So we are going to build on the next edition in 2025 in Jaarbeurs with all confidence and a lot of enthusiasm."
The next edition of DigiBouw will take place on November 19 and 20, 2025 at Royal Jaarbeurs.
