Utrecht, October 23, 2024 - Royal Jaarbeurs and digiGO, the platform for digital collaboration in the built environment, are launching a new trade event DigiBouw. DigiBouw 2024 aims to promote digital adoption within the construction and installation sector. Tom van der Zwaag: " Digitization is necessary to make the Dutch construction sector safer, more efficient and more sustainable. Therefore, during DigiBouw we offer a program for design, construction and engineering professionals with inspiring top speakers and speakers from the construction industry. For example, during the event, Techniek Nederland will present its research on the impact of new technologies such as AI, robotization and industrialization on the sector." DigiBouw 2024 will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 20 and Thursday, Nov. 21, at Royal Jaarbeurs.

Scaling up in new digital initiatives and technologies
Large construction and engineering companies have mostly made the step to digitalization but the adoption of digitalization lags behind. For Royal Jaarbeurs the reason to introduce, as market leader with its own trade titles BouwBeurs and VSK, the trade event DigiBouw. DigiBouw is the meeting place where construction and installation professionals get tools to accelerate digitization within their company. Tom van der Zwaag: "The challenges for the coming years in the sector are as great as ever. The question of whether it should be more efficient is no longer the most relevant, but how are we as a market going to scale up the use of new digital initiatives and technologies? The conditions for standardization are being created and many good and innovative things are already happening on the digital front. To raise digital maturity levels even further across the sector, we need to take people with us, bring added value into focus and show what is already possible." During DigiBouw 2024, design, construction and engineering professionals will gain valuable insights into today's opportunities for companies to take the next step on that road to a digitally driven construction process.

Techniek Nederland presents research on impact of new technologies
Last year Techniek Nederland conducted extensive research into the impact of new technologies such as AI, robotization and industrialization on the sector. The extensive report on this will be presented during DigiBouw. With the research, Techniek Nederland makes developments transparent for its supporters. Doekle Terpstra, chairman of Techniek Nederland: "AI, robots and industrialization are going to cause a revolution. This is also strongly reflected in the results of our research. Whether one is self-employed, runs an SME or works for a large technical service provider, everyone is going to be affected in the coming years. In doing so, we looked at the medium term, so we have now looked up to 2030."
